1st YEAR / FALL SEMESTER
INTT 101 – Introduction to International Trade I
This course is designed to examine business and business-related fields on a global level. In addition to providing students with knowledge of international trade and business, it introduces them to subfields of business such as marketing, accounting, finance, operations, human resources management, and business intelligence.
INTT 105 – Türkiye’s Foreign Trade Structure
This course discusses the importance of foreign trade for Türkiye and other countries, the reasons for increases in foreign trade, the factors driving countries towards foreign trade, the history and development of Türkiye’s foreign trade, its distribution by countries, the weight of the industrial/trade/service sectors, indicators related to Türkiye’s foreign trade performance, Türkiye’s regional economic cooperation and foreign trade in terms of free trade agreements, the impact of geographical proximity on foreign trade, and Türkiye’s foreign trade based on the principle of geographical proximity. It also includes general evaluations of Türkiye’s trade with D8 countries and its distant countries strategy. Current national and international economic developments related to foreign trade are followed.
1st YEAR / SPRING SEMESTER
INTT 102 – Introduction to International Trade II
As a continuation of INTT 101, this course aims to provide students with competence in international trade and business.
INTT 104 – Computer Applications in International Trade
This course provides a general overview of concepts related to computers and information. It covers basic concepts of computer and information technologies, the basic structure of computers, hardware, software, and operating systems. Students gain knowledge and experience in word processing and spreadsheets through widely used Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
INTT 106 – Basic Commercial Regulations (T)
This course examines the basic legislation related to commercial life. It first addresses fundamental legal concepts, the definition of legislation, the hierarchy of norms, and the concept of personality. It then covers topics related to commercial life, such as contracts, performance of obligations, joint liability, and commercial representation in the Code of Obligations; legislation concerning tradespeople and artisans; commercial enterprise law; consumer protection legislation; negotiable instruments law; basic tax law; and basic labor law. Elementary knowledge on these topics is provided to students.
2nd YEAR / FALL SEMESTER
INTT 233 – German I
This course introduces basic German grammar topics such as verb conjugations, subject–predicate relations, interrogative sentences, declarative sentences, affirmative–negative sentences, and the use of definite–indefinite articles. It also aims to enable students to introduce themselves and others and provide basic information about themselves and others.
INTT 237 – Russian I
This course aims to teach students the basic structures of Russian. Throughout the course, students begin with the Russian alphabet and basic phonetics, gaining basic communication skills on topics frequently encountered in daily life. By focusing on fundamental grammar structures, simple sentence patterns, and basic vocabulary, students are expected to introduce themselves, ask questions, and describe surrounding objects and people. Cultural awareness is also developed.
2nd YEAR / SPRING SEMESTER
INTT 234 – German II
This course continues with basic German grammar topics such as verb conjugations, subject–predicate relations, interrogative sentences, declarative sentences, affirmative–negative sentences, and the use of definite–indefinite articles. It aims to enable students to introduce themselves and others and provide basic information about themselves and others.
INTT 238 – Russian II
This course is structured to develop basic Russian communication skills. It focuses on enabling students to express themselves, request information, and communicate effectively with others in various situations encountered in daily life. Topics such as time, weather, shopping, health, and travel are addressed to strengthen linguistic proficiency and social interaction skills. Cultural aspects are also emphasized, including polite expressions, ways of expressing emotions, and phrases used on special occasions.
INTT 204 – Principles of Finance
This course is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of finance by focusing on topics such as valuation, cost of capital and project evaluation, risk–return analysis, and portfolio management.
3rd YEAR / FALL SEMESTER
INTT 333 – German III
This course covers German grammar structures such as the use of adjectives, personal pronouns, dative and accusative cases, prepositions, and time expressions, as well as main and subordinate clause construction. It aims to equip students with linguistic skills needed in their daily lives.
INTT 337 – Russian III
This course aims to develop students’ Russian grammar and communication skills. It covers fundamental grammar topics such as verb conjugations, adjectives, conjunctions, and the correct use of everyday expressions. While learning grammar rules, students also improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, with opportunities for practical use of Russian in daily contexts.
INTT 305 – International Trade Regulations (T)
Students are expected to learn the general principles of national and international regulations in the field of international trade law.
INTT 313 – Operations Research for International Trade
This course assists in solving problems that require decision-making in various environments. It covers topics such as linear programming, transportation, assignment, and CPM/PERT techniques. Analytical techniques and software packages are applied to solve problems faced by business managers in decision-making environments.
INTT 323 – International Trade Theory and Policy I
This course introduces students to the basic theoretical frameworks of world trade and the economic impacts of global trade. It thoroughly covers historical and contemporary theoretical approaches to explain the causes of trade and economic relations among countries. Starting with classical trade theories such as mercantilism, the theory of absolute advantage, and comparative advantage, the course proceeds to the Heckscher-Ohlin theory, the factor price equalization theorem, and modern trade dynamics such as economies of scale and imperfect competition. It also examines the effects of trade on growth and income distribution, technological differences, and empirical analyses of international trade.
3rd YEAR / SPRING SEMESTER
INTT 334 – German IV
This course covers German grammar structures such as prepositions, adjective degrees/uses, the perfect tense, past tenses, compound words, and moods. It aims to build students’ skills in reading, speaking, writing, and comprehension.
INTT 338 – Russian IV
This course aims to further develop students’ Russian grammar and communication skills. It focuses on verb usage in present, past, and future tenses, adverbs of time and place, as well as passive and active verb forms. Students practice expressing preferences, giving compliments, and stating opinions. Practical grammar and communication exercises are conducted on topics such as daily life and holidays.
INTT 308 – Export Incentives (T)
This course covers the main concepts of the Export Incentive System, including supports for goods exports (preparation, marketing, promotion, high value-added), supports for services exports (preparation, marketing, promotion, high value-added), e-export supports, inward and outward processing regimes, tax/duty exemptions, free zones and border trade, Eximbank loans and export credit insurance, and KOSGEB export supports.
INTT 324 – International Trade Theory and Policy II
This undergraduate course provides a comprehensive study of logistics and supply chain management, covering key topics such as distribution channels, logistics principles, supply chain cost and performance measurement, network design, demand forecasting, sales and operations planning, uncertainty management, transportation, decision-making, and coordination. Complementary case studies allow students to gain a deeper understanding of managing logistics and supply chains across industries and contexts.
INTT 342 – International Trade Logistics
This course offers a comprehensive study of logistics and supply chain management principles, similar to INTT 324, with emphasis on distribution channels, cost and performance analysis, network design, forecasting, planning, uncertainty, transportation, and decision-making. Through case studies, students gain practical insights into managing logistics and supply chain systems effectively.
4th YEAR / FALL SEMESTER
INTT 403 – International Marketing
This course examines the problems and opportunities faced by firms operating internationally. It reviews the activities of companies in emerging markets and evaluates issues such as diverse consumer preferences, competitors, and the position of distribution channels in competitive global markets.
INTT 427 – Transportation Management
This course provides an in-depth study of transportation management, covering global freight transportation, intermodal transport, road, sea, and air transport, as well as INCOTERMS 2020. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the field by examining planning processes, facility management, legal regulations, and current practices in transportation.
INTT 441 – International Finance
This course focuses on the theory and practice of international finance. Core topics include foreign exchange markets, exchange rate determination, balance of payments, the international monetary system, globalization, hedging strategies, and international investment decisions.
INTT 443 – Customs Regulations
This course covers fundamental concepts related to customs, modes of transportation, the placement of goods not in free circulation, representation in customs, customs regimes and practices, tariffs, origin, customs valuation, tax calculations, simplified customs procedures, import regime decisions, foreign trade policy instruments, and technical regulations. It provides students with an in-depth understanding of customs law and practices.
INTT 400 – Summer Practice
This course offers students the opportunity to explore in detail the complexities of managing successful international trade operations. Topics include analyzing global trade data, introduction to data tools, HS codes and product selection, international market research, target market selection, and international trade regulations and documentation. The second part of the course focuses on trade finance, export incentives, distribution planning, and transportation management. By the end of the term, students will gain valuable insights into global trade dynamics and acquire practical skills to operate effectively in the international trade environment.
4th YEAR / SPRING SEMESTER
INTT 404 – Foreign Trade Financing
This course aims to provide undergraduate students with a comprehensive overview of foreign trade financing. It covers key terms, the global financial system, international lending institutions, methods of payment in international trade, export and import financing, relevant laws and regulations, risk management, leasing, factoring, and forfaiting. The goal is to equip students with essential knowledge to understand how international trade is financed and to determine which payment method is most suitable in specific trade transactions.
INTT 430 – Intercultural Management and Negotiations
This course prepares managers who wish to do business and invest in global and international markets by enabling them to understand different markets and cultures. It also presents negotiation approaches in relation to international business and investment.
INTT 440 – Trade Applications and Export Planning
This course provides students with the opportunity to explore the details of managing successful international trade operations. Students analyze global trade data, learn HS codes and product selection, conduct international market research, and examine trade regulations and documentation. The second part focuses on trade finance, export incentives, distribution planning, and transportation management. By the end of the course, students gain valuable insights into global trade dynamics and acquire practical skills for effective participation in international trade.

INTT 406 – International Distribution Channels
This course explains how distribution channel mechanisms, an essential element of the marketing mix, operate.
INTT 407 – International Business Communications
This course aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of strategic organizational communication and intercultural business communication. It develops the skills required to plan and manage communication processes in companies operating in a global market. Upon completion, students are expected to have both theoretical and practical knowledge of strategic organizational communication, intercultural business communication, and cross-cultural negotiation. Various teaching approaches are employed, including lectures, case discussions, analysis and evaluation of real-world business communication cases, research on real companies, and the impact of communication management on corporate performance.
INTT 411 – International Trade Accounting
This course focuses on the accounting processes related to international trade transactions. It includes accounting for foreign-currency-based cash, checks, bank and bill transactions; accounting for export and import operations; financing and accounting of foreign trade; value-added tax in international trade; and state supports and incentives.
INTT 414 – International Sales Management and Negotiation Techniques
This course informs students about global sales and cross-cultural negotiation techniques. It examines the methods and skills required for successful sales and negotiations in the international business environment.
INTT 415 – Economic Integrations and the European Union
This course provides students with knowledge of the theoretical foundations of economic integration and the economic structure of the European Union. It covers different types of economic integration and examines the history, institutions, budget, and decision-making mechanisms of the EU. It also focuses on major policy areas such as economic and monetary integration, the Common Agricultural Policy, trade policy, and competition policy. In addition, the course explores EU fiscal, industrial, environmental, energy, and employment policies, as well as the EU enlargement process.
INTT 422 – International Marketing Research
This course aims to provide students with essential knowledge and depth in marketing research, which is critically important in today’s globally competitive environment.
INTT 424 – Term Project
The purpose of this course is to assign students different topics related to international trade and require them to prepare a project on the given subject.
INTT 425 – Economics of International Tourism
This course examines the historical development of tourism as one of the most important service sectors of the economy, its micro- and macroeconomic significance, and its structural features. It covers tourism as an economic activity, types and factors of tourism in terms of economic importance, factors influencing the development of the tourism market, and the effects of globalization on the tourism sector.
INTT 428 – E-Commerce Studies
The growth of the internet continues to have a tremendous impact on business. Companies and organizations of all types and sizes are rethinking their strategies and operations. This new course in the Temple E-Marketing program challenges students to explore the realities and implications of e-commerce from a marketing perspective. Both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) markets are examined. The course introduces a wide range of e-commerce topics for marketers and provides a foundation for continuous learning in the dynamic e-commerce environment.
INTT 429 – Technology Policy and Applications
Topics covered include: the concept of technology; the process of technological development (change); technology–economic growth relations; technology–labor-saving relations; the definition, emergence, and objectives of technology policy; types of technology policies; the neoclassical approach to resolving market failures; the evolutionary approach to creating an effective innovation system; design and implementation of technology policy; actors in technology policy; instruments of technology policy; and problems encountered in policy design. The course also reviews technology policies and applications in Türkiye and around the world.
INTT 439 – Developments in Türkiye’s International Trade
This course provides an institutional and structural framework necessary for analyzing the main characteristics of Türkiye’s international trade. Macroeconomic indicators are discussed in detail. The purpose is to help students understand the importance of Türkiye’s economy in the global context and examine the latest developments in Türkiye’s foreign trade.
INTT 442 – Applied Logistics Management
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of practical applications in logistics and supply chain management using Excel. Building on knowledge gained in courses such as International Logistics Management, Transportation Management, and Operations Research, students analyze real-world case studies. Combining theoretical discussions with practical Excel exercises, the course covers performance measurement, demand forecasting, distribution planning, transportation modeling, and global network design. Emphasis is placed on linking theory with practice and equipping students with analytical and optimization skills for logistics systems.
INTT 444 – Contemporary Issues in Logistics
This course examines key concepts, emerging trends, and practical applications in logistics and supply chain management. Through theoretical perspectives, real-world case studies, and hands-on activities, students gain an in-depth understanding of modern logistics operations. Topics include digital transformation, technology applications, sustainability initiatives, global supply chains, e-commerce, data security, crisis management, food logistics, and quantitative methods. Case studies are also discussed in assignments and classroom sessions.
INTT 445 – International Trade in Services
While international trade is often associated with trade in goods, trade in services represents a distinct yet increasingly important category. Just as merchandise trade brings foreign exchange to a country, trade in services also generates revenue. Moreover, the growth of merchandise trade is closely linked to the development of services trade, and the lack of service sector development can hinder trade in goods. This course examines the dynamics of supply and demand for services, the general features of service industries, the growing importance of services in the economy, and the organization of service production. It covers sectors such as education, health, retail, and wholesale trade, as well as tourism and travel services. Transportation, communication, warehousing, justice, security and defense, information services, construction and engineering services, and the role of services in international trade are also discussed, with particular emphasis on the Turkish service sector.
INTT 446 – Digital Transformation and the New Economy
Understanding the digital economy does not require completely new economic theories but rather a new emphasis on factors present in traditional economics, such as increased information, lower search costs, and lower marginal costs. This course analyzes firm strategies and public policy issues surrounding the digital economy and related industries by applying tools and principles from industrial organization and information economics. Topics include pricing and product differentiation, search costs and price distribution, network effects and system competition, the economics of platforms, intellectual property, and antitrust regulation. The course aims to analyze how digital technologies affect markets and society. It also examines key features of the digital economy such as network effects, two-sided markets, reputation systems, and data usage, as well as new business models like search engines, e-commerce platforms, and the gig economy.
INTT 447 – Practical Russian Speaking Course
This course is designed to improve students’ practical speaking skills in Russian, focusing on real-life communication contexts.
INTT 499 – Independent Study and Research
This course allows students to conduct independent study and research on selected topics under the supervision of a faculty member.
